(Seoul 15th August - 31st August)

Fantastic bus 6 hour trip from the southern port of Busan to Soeul. Beautiful countryside - conifers, roses, poplar trees, traditional clay houses, pines, bright green valleys. On arrival in Soeul I take a taxi the MC community.

Volunteering with the MC brothers mainly in one of the nearby hospitals in Seoul.

August 25th - Travel from Soeul to Chuncheon. A military man kindly buys my ticket to avoid the long queue.

The ferry pulls in at Busan from the Japan mainland. From here I travelled north by bus to Soeul.

One day I took the train up north to the Demilitarized Zone border of North Korea

Have an hour chat to Br. Andrew; who knows when I will see him again and then bid farewell to the MC community in Soeul.

Fly from Seoul to Taipei to Hong Kong on 31st August.

Stay with MC brothers in Hong Kong 1st Sept - 12th Sept.

Help out with the mentally handicapped residents of the MC house in Hong Kong.

Bid the MC brothers farewell on 12th Sept and leave by bus to the Hong Kong airport.

Check in is just right at 20kgs for the flight from Hong Kong to KL.

A young couple beg me to include a suitcase with mine. They are incredibly $600 Hong Kong in excess. I cannot legally and tell them that I would be responsible for their suitcase and it could contain drugs - NO THANKS. Anyway, why should they have a priviledge of having exces baggage while everyone else crams!!

(Ticket Hong Kong - KL - Perth $563)

Once I arrive in KL I stay the night on the 12th September and then prepare to leave in the morning of Sept 13th for Perth Australia.

Arrive Perth at 3am Sept 14th. First foot on Aussie soil since late January 1977. The morning sun shines pleasantly and warmly. Very nice taxi driver and we talk about many topics. Great to be able to hear an Australian accent again.

Later in the morning I catch up with Peter Haze, Jim Elliott and Kevin Ryan at Trinity College in Perth. After a very pleasant conversation Pete advises me to go by bus to Darwin via Port Hedland and Broome down through Alice Springs to Melbourne. This turned out to be the best stroke of fortune and advice I've ever come across, because Broome and Kimberley has captured my heart and my energy for over 40 years now.

In the meantime I tried milking cows at Mundijong which was highly unsuccessful and then I visited Br. Geoff Brown's mother and father in Albany. Geoff dropped out from Uni and went to work with the MC's in Calcutta just before I did in the mid 70's. He eventually replaced Br. Andrew as head of the MC order and is still working in Calcutta today.

All too soon I was back in Perth ready to take the epic bus journey up north on the Greyhound bus. This would be a piece of cake, when I thought about the hair raising adventures I had been through on my journey from India to Israel including riding on the roof and hanging on for dear life.

My Eagle pass (open ended ticket) from Perth via Broome to Darwin - Alice Springs - Adelaide
