Introduction
| I can't believe it's coming up to 50 years ago when I was teaching Grade 6 in St. Leonard's Glen Waverley. I remember in the second half of 1974 reading an article in the Herald Sun about volunteering in a program funded by the Australian Government called 'Australian Volunteers Abroad (A.V.A). It got me pondering about whether I wanted to teach for the rest of my life in the traditional manner in a country I felt very comfortable, or to take a risk and 'explore the unknown'. |
