Cable Beach won the toss and kicked against the breeze which was blowing across the ground to the Northern end. At quarter time, Beach was 1.4 to Looma 1.2. From then on the floodgates began to open and was followed by an avalanche of goals. Superior endeavour, teamwork and system won out. Looma chipped the ball far too much; probably due to the pressure applied by Cable Beach. Many of these chip passes resulted in costly turnovers. Sonny Dann was a sure focus in attack. Jo Jo Dann, Brett Claudius, Jordan King and of course, Best on Ground - (Nick Green) were very damaging over the whole game. Anyone who thinks that having a weeks rest in the finals is not beneficial, should remember this game where fresh legs and stamina won out big time.
